City Wall - Xian

The ancient city of Xian served as the seat of power for emperors from the Qin, Han and Tang Dynasties. The city is noted for its city wall that stretches for more 8.5 miles around the ancient city. Other noted structures include the bell and drum towers and the Great Mosque. The juxtaposition of ancient and modern China are very evident in Xian. I am intrigued with the sense of history in this city and the comparison between the feudal societies in China and Europe. I wonder what the youth of China feel about their history. The history of China is much more complex than that of our country.
